Associate Accounting Technician (AAT)

 

The range of an AAT's work varies widely. Generally AATs work in support positions and some of their key functions include:

 

 

   

Purchase accounting
Inventory control
Payroll accounting
Costing and budgeting
Sales accounting and credit control
Cash and banking
Ledger accounts and the preparation of accounts
AAT trainees are required to complete a training contract of at least two years and must pass an examination before they are entitled to use the AAT (SA) designation.
